Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Zanaco Partner to Boost Financial and Digital Inclusion in Zambia
Liquid Intelligent Technologies (Liquid), a business of Cassava Technologies, has entered into a strategic partnership with Zambia National Commercial Bank (Zanaco) mainly to deepen financial and digital inclusion across the country,. The collaboration aims to integrate mobile banking and internet services, providing Zambians with easier access to essential digital and financial tools.
The partnership, unveiled at Zanaco’s headquarters in Lusaka, will see Zanaco agents deployed across selected Liquid Home stores nationwide. Customers visiting Liquid Home outlets will now be able to access both banking and internet services under one roof ranging from cash deposits and withdrawals to topping up LTE internet accounts.
“This partnership is about more than just convenience it’s about enabling economic participation and empowering Zambians,” said Mark Townsend, Chief Executive Officer of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Zambia.
“By embedding Zanaco’s mobile banking services within our retail stores, we are simplifying how people access financial tools and digital services. This initiative supports Zambia’s broader vision of digital transformation.”
Zanaco agents will be stationed in Liquid Home outlets located in high-traffic areas including Cairo, East Park, Cosmopolitan, and Lewanika malls in Lusaka, as well as Zemart Mall in Ndola and Mukuba Mall in Kitwe. Plans are underway to expand the partnership to additional locations.
The collaboration aligns with Zanaco’s customer-centric approach, as underscored by the bank’s ongoing “You First” campaign. “Our promise is to always put our customers first,” said Prof. Oliver Saasa, Chairman of Zanaco. “This partnership with Liquid is a tangible demonstration of that commitment bringing our services closer to the people, where they live and work.”
The move also complements Liquid’s active role in supporting Zambia’s National Digital Transformation Strategy. The company has launched several initiatives, including public Wi-Fi in Livingstone, expansion of its high-speed GPON network, the rollout of Azure Stack for cost-effective cloud services, and the establishment of a Cyber Security Fusion Centre in 2023.
With this partnership, Liquid and Zanaco are setting a precedent for innovative, customer-focused collaboration that blends technology with financial empowerment signaling a forward-thinking model for digital inclusion in Zambia.
