KEPROBA’s exhibition features a wide range of locally made goods, including eco-conscious fashion, organic skincare, artisanal foods, and innovations tied to the blue economy many developed by youth- and women-led enterprises.
“The ‘Made in Kenya’ initiative is more than just branding it’s a catalyst for building a new generation of exporters,” said Floice Mukabana, CEO of KEPROBA. “We are creating pathways for SMEs to access markets, move up the value chain, and become globally competitive.”
Through capacity building, innovation support, and targeted market intelligence, KEPROBA aims to empower local producers, especially at the grassroots level.
The agency’s presence in Homa Bay a region rich in blue economy potential aligns with its broader strategy to decentralize trade promotion and foster inclusive economic growth.Lake Victoria’s proximity offers unique opportunities in fisheries, aquaculture, water transport, and eco-tourism.
KEPROBA is keen to position Kenya as a regional leader in ethically sourced and sustainably produced blue economy goods.
“As we mark 62 years of independence, ‘Made in Kenya’ stands as a symbol of pride, resilience, and ambition,” Mukabana added.
With strategic investment in infrastructure and trade facilitation, KEPROBA’s showcase serves as a timely reminder that Kenya’s prosperity lies in the innovation and industry of its people.
