Kenya’s Hospitality Industry Gears Up for The Hotel Expo 2025

Key players in Kenya’s hospitality sector convened at The Sarova Panafric Hotel for The Hotel Expo Kenya Stakeholder Luncheon, a high-profile gathering aimed at setting the stage for the inaugural Hotel Expo Kenya 2025.

The event, organized by Global Exhibitions Inc. (GEx), brought together hoteliers, investors, suppliers, policymakers and industry leaders to discuss emerging trends, opportunities and challenges shaping the region’s hospitality landscape.

The event was attended by key industry representatives, including officials from the Kenya Tourism Board, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI), Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers & Caterers (KAHC), Sheffield, Java Group and Sarova Group of Hotels, among others.

In a speech read on his behalf by his (PS) Secretary Penina Deche,the PS underscored that the hospitality sector’s is a pivotal role in driving economic growth and positioning Kenya as a leading global travel destination.

“Kenya’s hospitality industry is at a turning point, with rising demand for high-quality guest experiences, investment in infrastructure and the rapid adoption of technology and sustainability practices,” he said.

The Principal Secretary (PS), State Department of Tourism John Olooltua, noted that platforms like The Hotel Expo Kenya 2025 provide a vital opportunity to showcase the country’s strengths, attract investors and align the sector with global standards.

East Africa’s hospitality sector is experiencing rapid growth, fueled by increasing international arrivals, a rising middle class, and growing investor confidence.

In 2023 alone, the region welcomed over 7 million international visitors, with projections indicating a sustained annual growth rate of 15 percent.

Making his remarks,Edwin Masivo, Country Director of Global Exhibitions Inc., emphasized the expo’s significance in shaping the industry’s future.

“This is more than just an event,it is a catalyst for industry growth. We are bringing together decision-makers, innovators and hospitality leaders to explore cutting-edge solutions, forge strategic partnerships, and elevate East Africa’s status as a global hospitality powerhouse,” said Masivo.

As the industry evolves, experts highlight the need for collaboration, sustainability, and innovation.

Concurrently ,Mike Macharia, CEO of Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers & Caterers (KAHC), stressed the importance of continuous adaptation to global trends.

“A strong hospitality industry requires continuous adaptation to global trends, investment in quality services, and a commitment to excellence,” he said.

He stated that the conversations they have had are the major step towards building a world-class industry in Kenya and beyond.Hence,they are looking forward to seeing these ideas come to life at The Hotel Expo Kenya 2025.

The much-anticipated Hotel Expo Kenya 2025 is set to take place from 6th to 8th August 2025 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi.

The event will be the largest hospitality-focused exhibition and conference in East Africa, bringing together industry players to explore innovations, showcase solutions, and facilitate high-value B2B engagements.
