Superior Homes and HFC Kenya Ink Landmark Deal to Boost Affordable Homeownership

Superior Homes Kenya (SHK) and HFC Kenya, a subsidiary of HF Group, have signed a transformative Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding access to affordable homeownership in Kenya. The partnership combines SHK’s strength in quality real estate development with HFC’s accessible mortgage solutions, marking a pivotal moment for Kenya’s property sector.

Under the agreement, HFC will offer concessional mortgage financing at a competitive fixed interest rate of 9.5 percent, one of the most favorable in the market. The facility, which spans up to 20 years, comes with expedited loan approvals, making the home acquisition process more seamless particularly for the rising middle and upper-middle-income demographic.

Superior Homes Managing Director Ian Henderson termed the deal a “game-changer,” noting that the collaboration directly responds to Kenya’s evolving housing needs. “By integrating our master-planned community model with HFC’s innovative financing, we are enabling more Kenyans to realize their dream of homeownership while promoting sustainable urban development,” he said.

The partnership aims to close a longstanding financing gap by steering potential homeowners toward structured mortgage products rather than the traditional savings-based construction. It also aligns with the national Urban Areas and Cities Act, supporting the creation of integrated, well-serviced neighborhoods.

HFC Managing Director Peter Mugeni affirmed the bank’s commitment to long-term, inclusive development.

“We are proud to partner with Superior Homes, a developer focused on sustainable communities. Our ability to offer fixed mortgage rates below 10 percent for up to 20 years means we can better serve end buyers looking for stability and value,” said Mugeni.

The collaboration is expected to catalyze the real estate market and support Kenya’s broader affordable housing agenda.
