KEPROBA Hosts Kenya-Japan Business Forum to Boost Trade and Investments Ahead of Osaka Expo 2025.

The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, hosted the Kenya-Japan Business Forum with an aim of boosting trade and investment.

The high-profile event held at Nairobi hotel,was officiated by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry Salim Mvurya alongside Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Fuji Hiyasuki, provided a platform to bolster economic ties and foster meaningful partnerships between the two nations.

The forum served as a catalyst for the exchange of knowledge, creative ideas and business insights, with a strong focus on attracting Japanese investors to Kenya.

Key themes included technology transfer, market acces and industrial growth, aligning with government’s Agenda.

Building on the success of a similar event held in Tokyo in February 2024, which brought together over 180 companies from both nations, this year’s forum attracted over 130 private sector companies across industries such as ICT, health, manufacturing, logistics, energy, construction, insurance and agriculture.

The forum also spotlighted Kenya’s wide-ranging investment opportunities and government incentives aimed at encouraging foreign investment.

It emphasized government-to-business (G2B) and business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking, creating a space for enhanced collaboration and innovation.

making his remarks,Principal Secretary for Investments Promotion Abubakar Hassan, stated with gratitude that the forum marks a new chapter in Kenya-Japan relations.

“I am confident the business deals and ideas generated here will pave the way for transformative investments between our two nations,” he remarked.

KEPROBA, tasked with spearheading Kenya’s participation in the upcoming Osaka Expo 2025, played a pivotal role in the event.

Notably,KEPROBA’s Resource Mobilization Director Fatma Bashir participated in a panel session discussing how the Osaka Expo 2025 could enhance bilateral trade.

Meanwhile, Product Market Development Directorate Manager David Yamina , facilitated business networking sessions between Kenyan and Japanese delegates.

The Kenya-Japan Business Forum underscores the commitment of both countries to advancing economic cooperation, with shared goals of industrialization, innovation and sustainable growth.
