Absa Bank Flags Off Business Delegation to the U.S. for Investment Opportunities

Absa Bank Kenya has flagged off a delegation of Business Club members to the United States for a series of high-level business engagements aimed at unlocking investment opportunities, accessing new markets, and fostering strategic partnerships.

The trip, scheduled for March 11–21, 2025, will enable Kenyan entrepreneurs to gain global market insights and exposure to best business practices.Organized in collaboration with Value Connect Consultancy, Delta Airlines, and FMC Travel, the initiative underscores Absa Bank’s commitment to empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by offering access to resources that go beyond financial support.

The delegation will interact with potential investors, industry leaders, and business mentors to facilitate meaningful engagements that could drive business expansion and international collaborations.

Speaking at the flag-off event, Erastus Muthura, Head of SME Banking at Absa Bank Kenya, highlighted the importance of such business trips in accelerating SME growth.

“As a Bank, we recognize how crucial business trips are for driving growth. That is why we are focused on introducing our Business Club members to international markets. Our goal is to help entrepreneurs gain valuable insights into market trends in developed nations, setting them up for growth both locally and in other regions,” he said.

Muthura emphasized that Absa Business Club is structured around key pillars, including market access, mentorship, coaching, and information sharing, to ensure a holistic approach to business development.

“Our focus as Absa is to empower SMEs and provide more than just financial assistance to help them scale and thrive,” he added.

The United States remains a global hub for entrepreneurship and innovation, providing Kenyan business leaders with an opportunity to benchmark their operations against world-class enterprises.

Muthura noted that the trip will expose entrepreneurs to investment networks, advanced business models, and innovative financial solutions that could be replicated in Kenya to boost local enterprises.

The delegation will visit some of the world’s largest retail and business hubs in Atlanta, including Chick-fil-A, a leading fast-food chain, as well as the World of Coca-Cola and the Maxwell Leadership Centre. These engagements will offer Kenyan entrepreneurs direct insights into business sustainability, leadership, and brand development strategies.Following the Atlanta visit, the delegation will travel to Orlando to explore Manheim Orlando, a major player in the auto remarketing space.

The visit will provide insights into vehicle inspections, reconditioning, and auto industry trends that could inspire innovation in Kenya’s automotive sector.

The trip will culminate in the John Maxwell Conference Day to Grow Event at the World Center Marriott, a premier business forum that will allow participants to interact with global industry leaders.

This event is expected to equip Kenyan entrepreneurs with cutting-edge leadership skills, market intelligence, and global networking opportunities, positioning them for business growth on an international scale.
