Family Bank Opens New Branch in Kilifi to Boost Access to Financial Services
Family Bank has expanded its reach in Kenya with the opening of its 96th branch in Kilifi County, marking its 9th outlet in the coastal region. The move underscores the bank’s strategic push to grow its footprint while enhancing access to inclusive financial services.
The new branch, located at Kilifi Plaza, will offer a wide range of tailored banking products including asset finance, women banking, business loans, trade finance, and digital banking solutions. The expansion is expected to bolster financial inclusion and support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region.
Speaking during the launch, Family Bank CEO Nancy Njau said the expansion aligns with the institution’s long-standing commitment to retail banking and local enterprise development.
“Kilifi’s rising demand for accessible financial services presents a great opportunity to empower the local business community,” Njau noted. “This branch further cements our position as the Preferred Bank for Biashara. Through our 2025–2029 Strategic Plan, we aim to optimise our branch network and create SME-focused hubs that combine physical banking and digital innovation.”
The Kilifi branch is part of a broader plan to deepen the bank’s engagement with underserved markets and enhance customer experience across the country. Recently, the bank also relocated its Kangemi, Kisii, and Ngara branches to newly designed, modern premises aimed at providing accessible and customer-friendly services.
Family Bank continues to strengthen its position in Kenya’s competitive banking sector by blending traditional banking with digital transformation to meet the evolving needs of its clientele.
