Safaricom Partners with Quickmart to Expand Access to 4G and 5G Home Internet

Safaricom (NSE: SCOM) has entered into a strategic partnership with leading retail chain Quickmart to bring its 4G and 5G For Home internet solutions closer to customers across Kenya. The move is part of the telco’s continued drive to enhance connectivity and digital inclusion for households nationwide.

The partnership will see Safaricom’s home internet routers made available at Quickmart’s 61 outlets, increasing accessibility for customers looking for fast, reliable internet. With Quickmart’s extensive retail presence, customers can now conveniently purchase 4G and 5G routers without having to visit dedicated telecom shops.

“This partnership will ensure more Kenyans can access reliable home internet with ease, reinforcing our promise of seamless connectivity and great value,” said Fawzia Ali, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom PLC.

In a bid to further improve customer experience, Safaricom has also rolled out a new self-service router activation system. Customers can now scan a QR code to register their SIM cards, activate accounts, and purchase data packages making the setup process easier and faster.

Quickmart’s Chief Commercial Officer, J. Thuku, lauded the collaboration, saying, “We are excited to collaborate with Safaricom to offer our customers easy access to high-speed internet solutions. This aligns with our goal to deliver convenience and value to Kenyans.”

Safaricom routers, retailing at KES 2,999, remain available at Safaricom Shops, authorized dealers, and online via Masoko.co.ke. The company has also pledged to expand retail partnerships further.With over 97% 4G network coverage and 5G now active in all 47 counties, Safaricom is positioning itself to serve areas beyond fibre reach.

The initiative comes as the company marks 25 years of innovation and customer-centric growth.
