Kitale Businesswoman Wins KSh 3 Million Land Prize in KCB Savings Campaign

A Kitale-based entrepreneur, Joan Cheruto, is the latest millionaire in town after winning a prime plot of land worth KSh 3 million at the close of the five-month Revvvisha na KCB campaign.

Cheruto, 30, clinched the grand prize after consistently saving through her KCB Goal Savings Account and meeting all the eligibility requirements. The nationwide campaign, launched by KCB Bank Kenya, aimed to promote financial discipline and a robust savings culture among Kenyans.

Speaking after the announcement, an elated Cheruto shared her disbelief at the win: “When I received the call, I thought it was a scam. It only sank in after visiting my local KCB branch in Kitale. I’m proud to be part of a campaign that encourages saving.

KCB is truly changing lives, and I urge them to keep going.”The bank partnered with Centum Real Estate to offer the grand prize an exclusive plot in the luxurious Kingswood Park Estate, Vipingo.

The collaboration added a tangible, long-term value to the campaign by linking financial prudence to real estate ownership.“This campaign was designed to go beyond just financial rewards,” said Caroline Wanjeri, KCB’s Director of Mortgage Business. “By offering a premium land prize, we’re encouraging Kenyans to think long-term about their financial goals.”

Open to Kenyan adults with valid national IDs, the campaign focused on customers saving through the KCB Goal Savings Account, which offers interest rates of up to 8.5 percent . However, corporate accounts, M-Pesa agents, and KCB staff were excluded.

Throughout the campaign, KCB also rewarded participants with school fees, dining and fuel vouchers, and festive hampers demonstrating the bank’s broader commitment to improving customer livelihoods through practical and rewarding financial solutions.
