Kenya Airways Introduces Direct Nairobi-Gatwick Flights Starting July 2025

Kenya Airways (KQ) has announced the launch of a new direct route between Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and London’s Gatwick Airport (LGW), set to begin on 2 nd July 2025.

Kenyatta International Airport.

The new route marks a significant milestone in KQ’s expansion strategy, increasing the airline’s London frequency to 10 weekly flights.

To operating three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays the night flights from Nairobi will complement the existing service to Heathrow Airport (LHR).

This development offers KQ passengers a second nonstop entry point into London, providing greater flexibility and convenience.

Making his remarks,Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO, Allan Kilavuka, emphasized the strategic importance of the United Kingdom as a market.


“The UK is essential for Kenya Airways and Kenya, serving as a gateway for trade, tourism, education, business, leisure travel, and diaspora connections. Adding Gatwick to our network provides our guests with more travel options and a schedule tailored to their needs.”he stated.

Located 47.5 kilometers south of Central London, Gatwick Airport offers convenient access to travelers from the Southeast and South of England.

Passengers from Gatwick will benefit from seamless connections to Kenya Airways’ extensive African network through its Nairobi hub.

Bookings for the new route are now open on Kenya Airways’ website, via travel agents, and online travel platforms.

This expansion underscores Kenya Airways’ commitment to enhancing connectivity and providing customers with more travel options as it continues to strengthen its presence in key markets.
