KAHL and Lift Cargo Partner to Boost Kenya’s Perishables Export Chain

Kenya Airfreight Handling Limited (KAHL), a leader in temperature-controlled logistics, has entered into a strategic partnership with Lift Cargo Limited, a key player in the local perishables supply chain. The alliance is poised to transform how perishable goods are distributed globally, ensuring fresh produce reaches international markets in optimal condition.

Announcing the collaboration in Nairobi, KAHL Acting General Manager Peter Musola said the partnership will combine KAHL’s state-of-the-art cold chain infrastructure with Lift Cargo’s expansive client network to create a seamless and efficient logistics ecosystem.

“The partnership will minimize spoilage, reduce waste, and guarantee product freshness for our customers,” said Musola. “It’s a bold step towards elevating the quality of Kenya’s exports.”Kenya’s horticultural sector plays a critical role in the national economy, earning approximately Ksh157 billion ($1.29 billion) annually, according to the Agriculture and Food Authority.

Cut flowers make up more than 70 percent of these exports, with Europe being the primary destination.Musola affirmed KAHL’s commitment to supporting the sector through cutting-edge logistics. “We are determined to be a dependable partner for the horticulture industry by offering tailored solutions that meet global standards.”

Lift Cargo Limited Managing Director Silas Kashindi welcomed the partnership, noting that it would unlock new opportunities for growers. “This collaboration will enhance market access and increase the value of Kenyan produce on the global stage,” he said.

Both firms emphasized their shared commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, promising a future of improved freshness, traceability, and efficiency in the perishable goods supply chain.
