KEPROBA Elevates Kenyan Brands at Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week 2025

The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) played a key role in spotlighting Kenyan innovation and craftsmanship at the 4th Edition of the Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week, held at Nairobi’s Sarit Center Expo from April 24 to 26, 2025.Themed Unleashing the Power of Sustainable Innovation in the Textile and Leather Value Chains the event attracted exhibitors from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Turkey, Germany, and Benin.

It served as a strategic platform for showcasing Africa’s growing influence in the global textile and fashion industry.

KEPROBA’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to promoting locally made products through its Made in Kenya initiative. This program supports homegrown fashion and textile brands in reaching international markets.

A notable success story is Vivo Activewear, which recently expanded into the U.S. by launching a store in Atlanta, Georgia. The brand now operates 24 outlets across Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, employing over 360 people more than 70 percent of whom are women.

During a panel discussion on infrastructure and logistics in East Africa’s textile and leather sectors, KEPROBA Board Chairman Mr. Jas Bedi emphasized the importance of efficient transport and trade systems.

“Efficient infrastructure and seamless market access are key to unlocking the full potential of Kenya’s textile and leather sectors,” he said.

Bedi highlighted ongoing efforts to leverage trade agreements with the U.S. and Europe to create more opportunities for Kenyan designers and manufacturers.The expo also gave Kenyan artisans, designers, and producers a platform to showcase sustainable and innovative products.

KEPROBA supported them with trade information services, business development assistance, and connections to international buyers ensuring they could maximize their visibility and market access.

As Kenya’s fashion industry gains global recognition, KEPROBA’s efforts are positioning the country as a leader in eco-conscious, high-quality, and competitively priced apparel and leather goods.

The agency’s continued investment in market diversification and branding is helping to drive exports and strengthen the country’s creative economy.

With the conclusion of this year’s Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week, KEPROBA remains committed to elevating Made in Kenya brands to greater heights on the international stage.
