Airtel Kenya Surpasses 24 Million Subscribers as Network Expansion Gains Momentum
Airtel Kenya has crossed the 24 million subscriber milestone, marking a major achievement in its ambitious network expansion campaign, ‘Na Bado Tunagrow’.
The milestone, revealed in the latest sector statistics report by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), is a testament to the growing public confidence in Airtel’s continued investment in innovation, coverage, and inclusive digital services.
Airtel Kenya is the fastest growing mobile services provider in Kenya. It is one of the 14 operations that Airtel Africa runs in Africa since November 2010 following the acquisition of Zain by Bharti Airtel, earlier in June the same year. Airtel is dedicated to delivering unparalleled connectivity and empowering experiences to its valued customers across the nation.
At a press briefing to launch the campaign, Airtel Kenya Managing Director Ashish Malhotra expressed gratitude to the company’s expanding customer base, noting that the growth signifies a journey rather than a destination.
“We are deeply humbled by the support of over 24 million customers who continue to believe in us. This is not the destination it is part of a longer journey. We are committed to Kenya, and whilst we have made huge investments, our mission of enriching lives and driving progress is still not done,” said Malhotra.
Airtel’s continued success is underpinned by strategic investments aimed at enhancing connectivity, especially in underserved areas. Over the past year, the telco has expanded its network to remote regions including Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa, bringing digital inclusion and connectivity to communities previously left out of Kenya’s digital economy.
Beyond connectivity, Airtel has intensified its focus on financial inclusion through its upgraded Airtel Money platform. The revamped service offers faster, more reliable, and innovative mobile money services that have attracted a growing number of users seeking affordable and accessible financial solutions.
“With the recent upgrade of our Airtel Money platform, which brings speedy, reliable, and innovative services, we are seeing more Kenyans trusting us with their financial needs and we continue to improve as we promote financial inclusion,” Malhotra added.
The ‘Na Bado Tunagrow’ campaign encapsulates Airtel’s commitment to national development through connectivity and digital access. It also reinforces the company’s long-term vision to ensure that every Kenyan regardless of their location can enjoy the benefits of the digital age.
“This is a thank you to every Kenyan who has supported our journey. We are not done. We will continue to grow, improve, and serve Na bado tunagrow, stated Malhotra.
As Airtel Kenya charts its path forward, its growing subscriber base stands as a clear indicator of trust, relevance, and impact in Kenya’s rapidly evolving telecommunications landscape.
