SGA Security Donates Maternity Care Packs to Pumwani Hospital in Honor of International Women’s Day
In celebration of this year’s International Women’s Day, SGA Security extended a helping hand to new mothers at Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi by donating essential maternity items, including newborn care packs.
The initiative aligns with the 2025 theme, #AccelerateAction, which advocates for the urgent removal of systemic barriers and biases affecting women.The donation, which comprised diapers and toiletries, aimed to support both mothers and newborns, reinforcing SGA Security’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community service.

Speaking at the event, SGA Kenya Head of Sales and Marketing, Irene Opondo, emphasized the company’s dedication to championing women’s rights and well-being.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, Pascaline Kimongu, Head of Social Services at Pumwani Maternity Hospital, expressed gratitude to SGA Security for their generosity.
“This hospital serves many mothers, especially those from vulnerable communities. Your donation will greatly assist them as they transition home with their newborns. It will also benefit mothers admitted for extended care who may not have access to these essential items,” she noted.
As Kenya’s largest maternity hospital, Pumwani Maternity Hospital plays a crucial role in providing maternal and child healthcare, particularly for low-income families in Nairobi.
International Women’s Day serves as a platform to advocate for gender equality, reproductive rights, and the fight against violence and discrimination toward women.
This year’s #AccelerateAction theme calls for immediate, transformative change to ensure a more equitable future for all.
