Nairobi Hospital Unveils Advanced Siemens CT Scanner, Reaffirming Commitment to Patient-Centered Care

The Nairobi Hospital has unveiled the state-of-the-art Siemens 256-slice CT scanner, a groundbreaking imaging technology that offers faster, high-resolution scans with lower radiation exposure. Featuring dual-source technology and AI-assisted imaging, the scanner minimizes the need for contrast agents and sedation, especially in children.

It is tailored for a wide range of diagnostics, including pediatric, cardiac, orthopedic, oncological, and neurological imaging delivering full-body trauma scans within seconds while improving precision, even in patients with implants.

Speaking during the launch, Dr. Barcley Onyambu, Chairman of The Nairobi Hospital Board, said the investment is a testament to the hospital’s dedication to innovation and excellence in patient care.

“This is more than a technological upgrade; it symbolizes our commitment to lead with compassion and provide world-class healthcare rooted in dignity and accuracy,” he said.

Dr. Onyambu added that the hospital remains ready to partner with the Ministry of Health and the Social Health Authority (SHA) to enhance access to global standards of care in Kenya.

He further cited ongoing efforts toward Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation and continuous training through the Cecily McDonnell College of Health Sciences.
