Scorpion Kings, Donae’O, MiCasa to Headline Blankets & Wine Kenyan Summer 2025 at Nairobi

Nairobi, Kenya – 20 November 2025– East Africa’s premier family-friendly music festival, Blankets & Wine, has unveiled its most ambitious line-up yet for the Kenyan Summer 2025 edition featuring Scorpion Kings, Donae’o, Marioo and MiCas on Sunday, 21 December 2025 at Laureate Gardens, Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Under the rallying cry “COME WE DANCE!”,the festival is set to deliver an explosive celebration of African rhythm and joy just days before Christmas, perfectly timed for the festive season.

In a  milestone for cultural exchange, the event deepens its partnership with the British Council’s UK/Kenya Season 2025. After successfully taking Blankets & Wine to the UK for the first time ever in Bradford earlier this year, the collaboration now brings British Funky House legend Donae’O – the voice behind global anthems “Party Hard” and “I’m Fly” – to Nairobi as co-headliner, marking a historic two-way artistic bridge between Kenya and the UK.

Headliners that will shut down Kasarani:

  • Scorpion Kings (South Africa) – the kings of Amapiano
  • Donae’O (UK) – Funky House pioneer making his Kenyan debut
  • Marioo (Tanzania) – East Africa’s smoothest hitmaker
  • MiCasa (South Africa) – the ultimate feel-good house band
  •  Iyanii – Kenya’s breakout Afro-fusion star (festival debut)
  • Matata – Kenya’s high-energy rap-dance collective

The line-up is rounded out by some of the hottest names in the region: Okello Max, Bridgit Blue, Elsy Wameyo, Ssaru, Shad Mziki, and a late-night Onja Onja Stage takeover featuring Foozak, Tina Ardor, Ms. Mika, and a massive back-to-back finale with Aly Fresh, Mura, and Big Nyagz.

“This is more than a festival – it’s a movement,” said Muthoni Drummer Queen, Creative Director of Blankets & Wine. “We took Kenyan energy to the UK and blew minds in Bradford. Now we’re bringing Donae’O home to Nairobi. This is what real cultural exchange looks like – not one-way traffic, but a proper dialogue of creativity.”

Sandra Chege, Head of Arts – Kenya at the British Council, added: “Watching Kenyan artists light up Bradford and now seeing Donae’O join this incredible line-up in Nairobi shows the power of genuine collaboration. This is how creative scenes grow stronger on both sides.”

Now in its 17th year, Blankets & Wine is also raising the bar on production – promising clearer sound, better staging, smoother entry, and an all-round elevated experience. The fan-favourite  Onja Onja Market returns bigger than ever, showcasing Kenyan fashion, art, food, and lifestyle brands – the perfect holiday shopping destination.

Tickets are on sale now at www.blanketsandwine.com.

One day. One stage. One massive celebration of African music, dance, and culture.
