Youth for Ruto 2027 Movement Vows to Back President, Condemns Anarchy
A new youth-led political movement, Youth for Ruto 2027 (YR27), has declared unwavering support for President William Ruto while denouncing rising acts of violence and anarchy across the country.
Speaking at a press briefing in Nairobi, YR27 Secretary General Mark Ouko emphasized that the movement, inspired by the legacy of YK92, will not stand by as some groups mobilize youth to disrupt peace and derail progress. “Anarchy is not an option in this country,” Ouko stated. “We are here to protect the legacy of the youth in championing development and to defend President Ruto’s vision.”
He announced that YR27 will officially launch on June 25 at Nyayo Stadium, an event expected to be attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and senior UDA leaders. Ouko called on young people across the country to join in building a peaceful, development-oriented future.
YR27 leaders from across the regions Central, Northeastern, and Rift Valley voiced their commitment to empowering the youth, supporting government programs like affordable housing, and ensuring meaningful political representation for young Kenyans.
Michael Soi, the group’s Chief Operations Officer, linked the movement’s mission to recent unrest and the tragic death of Albert Ojwang, saying the group will push back against youth being misused as political tools. “We must not allow ourselves to be used for chaos. We stand for peace, opportunity, and leadership,” he said.
The Youth leaders called on all youth to remain peaceful, engage constructively, and support President Ruto’s administration as it delivers on its promises.
“Let’s give the government time to work, Our future as youth is in our hands let us lead with wisdom and unity,”.
