Nairobi UDA Leaders Declare Readiness to Defend Government, Back President’s Agenda Ahead of 2026 Campaigns
Leaders of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in Nairobi have declared their readiness to mobilise grassroots support for President William Ruto and defend the party’s agenda as the country heads into the 2026 political season.
Speaking during a press briefing held on Tuesday, January 21, 2026, at Charter Hall, Nairobi UDA leaders outlined key party priorities, including preparations for Nairobi County UDA elections, the President’s upcoming tour of the capital, and ongoing talks between UDA and ODM.
Addressing the media, Kibera constituency elected delegate Ashkorn Kamili said the Nairobi UDA leadership was united and prepared to serve as the first line of defence for both the party and the President.
“We are here to assure the country and the UDA fraternity that Nairobi is strong, ready, and willing to take instructions from the President as he moves to engage with grassroots leaders and wananchi. This is the year campaigns begin, and we are prepared for action,” Kamili said.
He praised the President’s track record, citing affordable housing, national cohesion through the broad-based government, and ongoing health sector reforms as key achievements of the Kenya Kwanza administration. Kamili acknowledged challenges facing health reforms but said the government remained committed to ensuring Kenyans benefit from the programmes introduced.
Kamili further noted that the 340 elected UDA delegates in Nairobi—20 from each constituency were fully mobilised and ready to participate in upcoming party elections and national party activities, expressing confidence that President Ruto would serve two terms.
Nairobi UDA Chairman and Ruaraka sub-county delegate Michael Kissinger commended the President for forming a broad-based government, saying the party in Nairobi was firmly behind the Head of State and ready to support his development agenda.

Embakasi delegate Nancy Njuguna described UDA delegates as “soldiers of the President” in Nairobi and across the country, saying their focus was on working with grassroots leaders to strengthen the party ahead of the next elections.
Lang’ata sub-county delegate Kipchumba Kimei urged closer collaboration between national leadership and grassroots structures to enhance service delivery and political mobilisation, while Lang’ata youth delegate Jamrick Musevi called on the President to prioritise the welfare of grassroots mobilisers who form the backbone of the party.
The leaders reaffirmed their loyalty to UDA, describing the party as the vehicle driving Kenya’s development agenda, and pledged to remain united in advancing President Ruto’s vision of transforming Kenya into a first-world economy.
