CFAO Mobility injects Ksh2million into Nairobi Marathon

(L–R) David Mwindi, Local Organising Committee Chairman of the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon, and Joshua Anya, Deputy Managing Director, CFAO Mobility, formalise a partnership that sees CFAO Mobility come on board as the race’s Official Mobility Partner, committing KES 2 million and providing vehicles and motorcycles to support the smooth running of the annual event.

CFAO Mobility Kenya has injected Ksh2 million into the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon after being unveiled as the official mobility partner of the country’s biggest marathon.

The partnership was sealed on August 27, 2026, during a cheque handover ceremony held at the CFAO Mobility showroom in Nairobi.

As part of the sponsorship, CFAO Mobility will provide a fleet of eight vehicles to support this year’s race, which is expected to attract thousands of runners across different categories.

The fleet comprises four Toyota vehicles, two Suzuki vehicles, a Yamaha motorcycle and a BYD Shark plug-in hybrid pick-up.

The vehicles will play a key role in supporting race-day operations, including athlete safety, pacesetting and route management from the start to the finish of the competition.

Electrified mobility takes centre stage

CFAO Mobility said the partnership goes beyond providing logistical support for the marathon, describing it as an opportunity to showcase sustainable mobility solutions to thousands of participants and spectators.

The company will place electrified vehicles, including the Toyota BZ4X, its first fully electric Toyota model, and the BYD Shark plug-in hybrid, at the forefront of the race.

The move is aimed at demonstrating the potential of cleaner and smarter mobility solutions in Kenya while reinforcing CFAO Mobility’s ambition to become the country’s preferred mobility solutions provider.

“Mobility enables opportunity. It connects people to businesses, businesses to markets, communities to services, and individuals to their ambitions,” said Joshua Anya, Deputy Managing Director, CFAO Mobility Kenya.

Anya said the marathon represented the values of resilience, discipline and determination that also drive the company’s operations.

“The Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon brings together runners driven by resilience, discipline and determination  the same values that drive CFAO Mobility every day,” he said.

He added that leading the race with a fleet featuring the Toyota BZ4X and BYD plug-in hybrid was a demonstration of the company’s commitment to delivering modern mobility solutions.

“This is the kind of mobility Kenya deserves, and it is the future CFAO Mobility is committed to delivering, on the road and off it,” Anya said.

Backing sporting talent

The sponsorship builds on CFAO Mobility’s wider involvement in Kenyan sport, including its partnership with African 100-metre record holder Ferdinand Omanyala.

The company described Omanyala as an ambassador who embodies discipline, resilience and peak performance.

Several CFAO Mobility employees will also participate in the marathon, joining thousands of runners on the course.

The company said its involvement reflects its commitment to supporting platforms that promote health, ambition and sustainable development.

CFAO Mobility said the partnership reinforces its position in the journeys of Kenyans, from everyday travel to major sporting events, as it continues working to keep the country moving forward.
