M-Shwari Dismisses Social Media Fraud Claims, Reaffirms Customer Account Integrity
M-Shwari has moved to dismiss allegations circulating on social media that claim fraudulent activity on an account belonging to a customer identified as Brian Aballah, stating that the claims are false and unsupported by account records.
In a statement, the digital lending and savings platform said its Customer Experience team had reviewed the matter and engaged directly with the customer referenced in the posts. Following this review, M-Shwari confirmed that the allegations were factually incorrect and inconsistent with verified account data.
“We wish to clarify that the claims being shared online do not reflect the true status of the customer’s account,” the company said, adding that it had requested the withdrawal and cessation of the misleading statements.
M-Shwari, which is regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya, noted that millions of Kenyans trust the platform with their savings and reiterated its commitment to providing secure, reliable financial services while safeguarding customer funds.
The company also emphasized its dedication to transparency and constructive engagement, encouraging customers to contact its support teams directly to review account records or resolve any genuine discrepancies.
“This approach ensures concerns are addressed accurately and promptly, without misinformation,” the statement added.
