National Chairperson of Kazi Mashinani and leader of the Team RAO County Coordinators, Mr. Joachim Maragia has recounted his emotional return to the graveside of the late national reform hero, a visit he says was necessary to calm his spirit and find closure.

He revealed that he will continue making regular trips to the site, describing the pilgrimages as a personal way of managing the weight of grief and memories.

According to him, the atmosphere at the homestead was filled with warmth and solidarity, as longtime friends and members of the late leader’s team camped at the venue, welcoming mourners with compassion. Maragia says the gesture reflected the deep respect the community still holds for the departed statesman.

However, the most overwhelming moment came at the graveside, where tears flowed freely. “I could not hold myself together,” he recalled, adding that the pain of loss is still raw.

He extended heartfelt prayers to the bereaved family, asking God to strengthen them as they continue mourning a man he described as a true champion of reform.

Maragia noted that tributes shared across various platforms indicate that the late leader will be remembered for a long time, with admirers from around the world expected to keep visiting his grave regardless of the distance or cost. He said this outpouring of love reflects the profound impact the reformist had on people from all walks of life.

He affirmed that he will personally keep honouring the fallen icon, whose contributions touched his life, the lives of many Kenyans, and countless supporters globally.

“RIP Jakom… Jowi! Jowi! Jowi!”
