GOTAAB Kalenjin Association Champions Unity and Empowerment Across Kenya
Founded in 2021, the GOTAAB Kalenjin Association (G.K.A.) is fast emerging as a model for inclusive community empowerment in Kenya. Registered under the Societies Act, G.K.A. is a nonprofit, nonpolitical welfare association driven by a mission to uplift individuals through leadership development, economic empowerment, and grassroots social outreach.
Rooted in the Kalenjin word “GOTAAB”, meaning “Our Home”, the association embodies a vision of shared responsibility, unity, and dignity for all. While inspired by Kalenjin heritage, G.K.A. is open to all Kenyans, regardless of tribe, religion, or background, signaling a growing shift towards inclusive nation-building.
“Our name may be Kalenjin, but our mission is truly national,” said Chairperson Wesley Kipkorir Rono. “We welcome everyone who believes in creating a just, united, and empowered society.”
G.K.A.’s programs focus on economic empowerment for youth and women, leadership and mentorship training, welfare support for vulnerable groups, and strategic partnerships aimed at fostering peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.
Membership is open to individuals aged 18 and above. To join, members are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Ksh. 1,000 via Kenya Commercial Bank or M-Pesa. The association also invites donors, organizations, and well-wishers to support its transformative agenda through financial assistance, mentorship, or collaborative projects.
“Our Home is your home,” reads the G.K.A. slogan—a reflection of the association’s inclusive spirit and long-term commitment to community transformation.
