A new partnership between Executive Healthcare Solutions, Old Mutual General Insurance Kenya, and AXA Global Healthcare has been unveiled in Nairobi to transform access to quality healthcare for individuals and corporates across Africa.

The initiative, known as the Executive Global Health Plan, combines global medical expertise with local regulatory alignment to deliver comprehensive healthcare coverage across borders. The collaboration brings together Executive Healthcare Solutions’ regional experience, Old Mutual’s underwriting capacity, and AXA’s international medical network and digital innovation.

Speaking during the launch, Executive Healthcare Solutions Chief Executive Officer Aly Maherali described the partnership as a bold and visionary move aimed at reshaping Africa’s health insurance landscape.

“Today, we take a bold step forward through our exclusive collaboration with AXA Global Healthcare and Old Mutual General Insurance Kenya,” said Maherali. “This partnership is not just strategic but is deeply aligned with our vision to be the market leader in international primary medical insurance in Kenya and across sub-Saharan Africa.”

Maherali, who founded Executive Healthcare Solutions 26 years ago, said the company’s mission has always been to provide innovative and reliable international medical insurance tailored to the realities of those living and working in Africa.

He explained that the newly launched plan was developed from years of experience and a deep understanding of Africa’s healthcare needs, designed to serve high-net-worth individuals, corporate organizations, small and medium enterprises, and mobile professionals who require dependable medical solutions both locally and abroad.

“What makes this partnership unique is that the plan is locally underwritten by Old Mutual General Insurance Kenya, ensuring full regulatory compliance and market alignment,” Maherali said. “It is globally backed by AXA, bringing world-class healthcare standards, digital innovation, and a robust worldwide medical network to our clients.”

He emphasized that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right and not a privilege, noting that the partnership aims to make healthcare more reliable, affordable, and comprehensive for African families and businesses.

“This collaboration marks the beginning of a new chapter in our mission to reimagine healthcare in Africa,” Maherali added. “Together, we are building a healthier and more connected continent.”

The Executive Global Health Plan will initially be available in Kenya before expanding to ten other African countries where Executive Healthcare Solutions operates. The product offers comprehensive benefits that include global medical cover, virtual consultations, second medical opinions, and cross-border treatment support.

Old Mutual General Insurance Managing Director Japheth Ogalloh praised the partnership as a milestone in advancing accessible and globally integrated healthcare solutions.

He explained that the partnership will allow customers to access a single, globally integrated medical solution that provides consistent care both within Kenya and overseas.

“At Old Mutual, we see innovation as both a responsibility and a catalyst for better healthcare outcomes,” Ogalloh said. “Customers today demand accessibility and confidence in their healthcare experience, whether at home or abroad.”

He highlighted that combining AXA’s global medical capability, Executive Healthcare Solutions’ distribution excellence, and Old Mutual’s analytical and regulatory expertise will enable the delivery of efficient, customer-centered healthcare solutions.

“Our customers will now benefit from a globally recognized medical network, virtual consultations, medical second opinions, coordinated case management, and cross-border treatment support,” Ogalloh said.

He emphasized that the partnership represents confidence that care will be accessible even when far from home and confidence that innovation can deepen insurance penetration across Africa in a sustainable way.

AXA Global Healthcare Chief Growth Officer Karim Idilby welcomed the collaboration, describing it as a model for modern, cross-border healthcare delivery that combines local understanding with global expertise.

He said AXA is committed to expanding its global reach in partnership with trusted regional insurers and distributors to ensure that clients receive high-quality care wherever they are.
