Nairobi Hospital partners with Nairobi Polo Club in major healthcare deal for 2026/27 season
The Nairobi Hospital and Nairobi Polo Club have unveiled a landmark partnership that will see the hospital become the Official Healthcare Partner for the 2026/2027 polo season, in a move aimed at strengthening athlete safety, promoting wellness and expanding community healthcare awareness through sport.
The partnership was officially announced during a media briefing held in Nairobi on Thursday, July 2, 2026, with officials from both institutions describing the collaboration as a major step toward integrating healthcare and sports development in Kenya.
Under the agreement, The Nairobi Hospital will provide comprehensive on-site emergency medical support during polo events throughout the season, including ambulance services, trained emergency response personnel, medical equipment, player welfare programmes, health screenings and wellness education initiatives.
The partnership will also see The Nairobi Hospital serve as the headline sponsor of the 2026 Pink Polo Tournament scheduled for October, with the event forming part of the hospital’s wider cancer awareness campaign focused on early detection, routine screening and improved access to quality cancer care.
Speaking during the unveiling, The Nairobi Hospital Chief Executive Officer Felix Osano said the collaboration aligns with the institution’s broader mission of promoting health beyond traditional hospital settings.
“This collaboration allows The Nairobi Hospital to remain a visible presence in the everyday lives of our community, supporting people not only in moments of illness or emergency, but throughout their pursuit of healthier and more active lifestyles,” said Osano.
Chairman of the Board at The Nairobi Hospital Dr Barcley Onyambu said the partnership reflects a belief that healthcare extends beyond hospital walls and into community spaces where people live, work and engage socially.
Meanwhile, Nairobi Polo Club Chairman Simon Muchene welcomed the partnership, saying player safety and spectator wellbeing remain central to the growth of polo in Kenya.
“Partnering with The Nairobi Hospital gives our members, players and guests the confidence that world-class medical support will be available throughout the season,” Muchene said.
The partnership marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between the two institutions aimed at promoting sporting excellence, preventive healthcare and stronger community engagement through sport.
