“The 7th edition of the Nairobi Marathon Relay attracted hundreds of athletes, fitness enthusiasts, corporate teams and families at the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi on Sunday, showcasing the growing popularity of fitness events in Kenya. The competition saw Team 1.59.30 Attempt and Podium Crasher Ladies emerge as winners in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.The relay marathon, which continues to gain recognition as one of Nairobi’s major community fitness events, brought together participants from different backgrounds in a celebration of endurance, teamwork and discipline. The race featured teams of six members, with each runner completing a seven-kilometre leg to cover the full marathon distance of 42 kilometres.In the men’s category, Team 1.59.30 Attempt secured first position after crossing the finish line in 2 hours, 7 minutes and 55 seconds. The team maintained an average pace of three minutes and one second per kilometre throughout the race, delivering one of the strongest performances of the event.The women’s competition was equally competitive, with Podium Crasher Ladies claiming victory after clocking 2 hours, 31 minutes and 29 seconds. The team maintained a steady pace of three minutes and 34 seconds per kilometre to defeat other strong contenders in the race.The marathon relay has steadily grown over the years, attracting both professional runners and ordinary Kenyans interested in promoting healthy living through physical activity.
