Uganda’s U20 team departs for Oregon after high-altitude camp in Kenya
Coach Immaculate Chemutai said Team Uganda has completed its high-altitude training camp in Kaptagat, Kenya, and departed for Oregon ahead of the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships.
In a post on Facebook, Chemutai described the training camp as a memorable experience, thanking God for the team’s safety, guidance and good health during their stay.
She expressed gratitude to Complete Sports for hosting the delegation, saying the team had received exceptional hospitality throughout the camp.

Chemutai also thanked Uganda Athletics for facilitating the training programme and its continued commitment to developing athletics in the country.
“Now it’s time for the next chapter of our journey as we head to Oregon for the World U20 Championships 2026. May God lead the way, protect us, and grant us success,” she wrote.
Uganda’s team will be looking to build on its strong tradition in distance running as it competes against the world’s leading junior athletes at the championships in Oregon.
