Tenwek CTC Installs Country’s First SOMATOM Pro.Pulse CT Scanner to Boost Diagnostics

Bomet, February 18th, 2026- The AGC Tenwek Hospital Cardiothoracic Centre (Tenwek CTC) has strengthened Kenya’s specialized healthcare capacity with the installation of a high-end dual-source CT scanner marking the country’s first deployment of the SOMATOM Pro.Pulse technology.

Located at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, the new system is expected to significantly enhance precision in medical imaging and support faster, more accurate diagnosis of complex conditions.

Speaking during the launch, Benjamin Siele, CEO of Tenwek Hospital, expresses strong confidence that this milestone will catalyze future advancements.

He stated that the installation aligns with Kenya’s broader efforts to strengthen diagnostic infrastructure, promote early disease detection, and improve patient outcomes across critical areas such as cardiology, oncology, trauma care, and pulmonary medicine.

“The installation of the SOMATOM Pro.Pulse is already transforming how we serve our cardiac and neurological patients. Looking ahead, we are excited to expand its application into oncology and pulmonology, where we believe its speed and precision will significantly improve early detection, treatment planning, and long-term patient outcomes. This investment is not just for today’s needs. It is a foundation for the future of comprehensive, high-quality care for a broader spectrum of patients,” he said.
