Susan Nakhumicha amongst New Ambassadors Nominees in Latest Diplomatic Appointments

President William Ruto has nominated a new group of envoys to represent Kenya in key diplomatic missions abroad, signaling a strategic move in the country’s foreign relations.

In the latest appointments, Former Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha has been nominated as Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). Peter Tum has been designated as Kenya’s Ambassador to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, while James Muhati has been nominated as the Consul-General in Guangzhou, China.

Additionally, Abdi Dubat has been named the Consul-General in Arusha, Tanzania.The nominations, which are subject to parliamentary approval, come as part of President Ruto’s efforts to strengthen Kenya’s diplomatic presence and enhance bilateral and multilateral relations with key global partners.

If confirmed,the new envoys are expected to play a crucial role in advancing Kenya’s economic and strategic interests in their respective postings.
