Scammers are now pretending to be Kenya Power Agents to steal your money and personal information.

They send you alarming and manipulative messages to trigger fear, so you act without thinking.

EXAMPLE OF A FAKE SCAMMER MESSAGE:

“Dear Customer, your electricity will be DISCONNECTED TODAY due to unpaid bill of KSh 2,500 and illegal meter tampering detected. You have been fined KSh 15,000. Pay NOW via M-Pesa to avoid disconnection NOW and arrest. Click here: bit.ly/kplc-pay-now”

This is FAKE!

How to stay safe:

1.  Kenya Power will NEVER threaten you to pay NOW via a personal link.
2.  Always check the sender number – Official is 95551.
3.  Do not click suspicious links.
4.  Verify your bill on *977# or the MyPower App.
