Sanlam Allianz General Insurance (Kenya) Limited has posted a 21 per cent rise in profit after tax for 2025, as the insurer credited its agents, bancassurance partners and brokers for helping drive the business turnaround.
The company recorded a profit before tax of Ksh344 million in 2025, up from Ksh284 million the previous year, while insurance revenue increased to Ksh7.9 billion from Ksh7.4 billion.
The improved performance follows the integration of Jubilee Allianz and Sanlam General, which the company said has strengthened its balance sheet and internal capabilities.
Insurer targets stronger customer experience
The insurer said enhanced information technology systems and processes, coupled with staff upskilling, were also contributing to improved operations and positioning the company to deliver better customer experiences.
The remarks were made during the company’s Annual Excellence Awards gala held at its head office in Westlands, Nairobi, where top-performing intermediaries were recognised for their contribution to the business.
Sanlam Allianz General Insurance Kenya Chief Executive Officer George Kuria said the performance demonstrated renewed momentum within the business as the company prepares for long-term growth.
“These achievements reflect renewed momentum in the business and growing confidence in our brand and market approach,” Kuria said.
He added that combining deeper expertise, stronger capabilities and broader experience had positioned the insurer to better serve customers and partners.
Kuria said the company would also focus on expanding its small and medium enterprises (SME) business through simple and relevant insurance solutions.
Top agents win trips to China, Diani
The gala recognised intermediaries across several categories, with seven agents winning trips to China while 12 others secured getaways to Diani on the Kenyan coast.
Other agents were recognised for consistency, discipline and commitment to customers.
The awards included Growth, Product Mix, Profitability and Agent of the Year categories for agents, while bancassurance partners competed in Growth, Product Mix, Profitability and Bank of the Year categories.
Brokers were recognised in five categories covering Retention Champions, Growth, Product Mix, Profitability and Rising Stars.
The Rising Stars category highlighted emerging local insurance talent entering the industry.
Rebrand follows regional merger
The awards come after SanlamAllianz completed its regional rebrand following last year’s merger.
The Kenyan insurer said the recognition programme reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with its network of agents, bancassurance partners and brokers as it continues to build on the gains made in 2025.
Kuria described the intermediaries as the “heartbeat” of the business, underscoring their role in helping the company deliver its growth strategy and strengthen relationships with customers.
SanlamAllianz said it would continue collaborating with its intermediary network through the remainder of 2026 as it seeks to consolidate its performance and expand its presence in the Kenyan insurance market.
