Pathways Technologies Rolls Out Smart Digital Solutions for Agriculture and Sales Growth

Pathways Technologies has launched a suite of innovative digital solutions designed to enhance agricultural productivity and sales performance.

The company, known for leveraging data and technology to drive business growth, has introduced a credit scoring solution for farmers, a field delineation app, and a sales insights dashboard.

In partnership with GIZ, Pathways Technologies has developed a bespoke credit scoring solution tailored for farmers, enabling better financial access through data-driven risk assessment.

The field delineation app, also in collaboration with GIZ, offers a cutting-edge digital tool to help farmers and agricultural stakeholders optimize land use and planning.

Additionally, the sales insights dashboard generates comprehensive reports, empowering sales managers to refine strategies and boost team performance.

Beyond these solutions, Pathways Technologies continues to expand its impact through strategic initiatives. The company has joined the Google Cloud Partner Advantage program, become a Microsoft in Education Global Training Partner, and spearheaded the Jitume Program, which equips young Kenyans with data analytics skills to drive business success.

Speaking during the launch of credit scoring solutions for farmers while unveiling innovative solutions for the agricultural sectors, Chief Executive Officer for Pathways Technologies Joel Onditi noted said that pathway Technologies is building solutions that are solving real-world problems in Africa today.

“Currently, farmers can’t easily get loans because all the lenders think that farmers are very risky. We are building a solution that will enable SACCOs and other lenders to drop some stringent requirements like guarantors and collateral.”he noted.

Farmers Set To Benefit As Credit Scoring Solution Is Launched,Pathways is collecting data and leveraging AI to build a credit score which will help the lender comfortably work with the farmer.

The program has been piloted at Fortune Sacco in collaboration with the Kenya Agricultural Livestock Research Organization (KARLO) and GIZ that funded the program.

Making his remarks,Timothy Muthike , Fortune Sacco Deputy CEO and the Head of Finance revealed that when the project began,out of the 100,000 farmers, Fortune Sacco was only able to lend a 20 Percent of the number due to lack of data.

Pointing out the solution made,he said that the Sacco now has the opportunity to lend to over 60 Percent because it’s now getting the right data through technology with the right insights to lend to the farmers.

“Physical forms, which are very bulky, make decision-making very tedious and lengthy. With the adoption of technology, we are looking to have most of these decisions made by a machine and eliminate some of the unnecessary bureaucracies associated with lending, and also human face and human bias.”he said.

Additionally,he said ” We hope that over 60 percent of the small-scale farmers will be able to access credit, timely, and the right amount,”.
