NAIROBI, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29.
Momentum Sports Africa has stepped up its efforts to nurture young basketball talent in Kenya after unveiling the second edition of the Solo D Signature Basketball Camp, an initiative that will bring two-time Basketball Africa League (BAL) champion Souleyman “Solo D” Diabate back to Nairobi to mentor aspiring players.
The announcement was made on October 25, 2026, with organisers confirming that the five-day basketball development programme will be held in two sessions at Parklands Sports Club, running from November 16–20 and November 23–27.
The initiative, organised in partnership with Force One, targets young basketballers aged between 12 and 17, offering them an opportunity to sharpen their technical abilities while gaining insights into the demands of professional basketball.
Diabate, whose experience includes two BAL championship titles, will lead the programme, bringing his professional experience closer to a generation of players seeking to develop their game and potentially progress to higher levels of competition.
The announcement builds on the inaugural Solo D Basketball Camp held in August at Parklands Sports Club, where young players participated in practical training, mentorship and player-development sessions.
During the inaugural edition, Diabate was involved in hands-on basketball drills, while Christian Mulumba, basketball mentor responsible for Africa Partnerships and Recruitment at DME Academy, conducted post-game review sessions, offering players feedback and guidance on areas requiring improvement.
The second edition is expected to build on that foundation, with organisers placing greater emphasis on preparing participants for future talent-identification and showcase opportunities.
