Kenya to Host Over 6,500 Delegates for 15th Magical Kenya Travel Expo in Push for Intra-African Tourism Growth

Kenya is gearing up to host over 6,500 delegates from 40 countries during the 15th edition of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE), slated for October 1–3, 2025, at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi. The landmark event, themed Sustainable Tourism Growth: Unlocking Africa’s Potential, will spotlight intra-African collaboration and sustainability in tourism.

MKTE 2025 will feature 400 exhibitors, 200 international buyers, and thousands of industry professionals engaging in networking, deal-making, and strategic dialogue. The event also marks the integration of the Africa Tourism Investment Forum (ATIF), aimed at unlocking vital capital for tourism enterprises.

Speaking at a stakeholder engagement forum,Tourism Principal Secretary John Ololtuaa, underscored MKTE’s transformative impact over the past 15 years, calling for a pan-African approach in the 2025 edition.

“This year’s expo is not just a celebration of Kenya’s achievements but a testament to the collective progress of African tourism stakeholders,” said Ololtuaa.

Africa, which accounted for 40.8 percent of Kenya’s international arrivals in 2024, remains a key growth market. Ololtuaa urged stakeholders to break competitive barriers and embrace regional collaboration.

“We must view regional markets not as rivals but as allies in a shared tourism vision,” he said.

Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) Chairperson Francis Gichaba noted the event’s milestone anniversary as an opportunity to cement Kenya’s role as a regional tourism leader.

KTB Chief Executive Officer June Chepkemei announced new digital matchmaking tools and sustainability measures to enhance delegate experience and environmental responsibility.

With Africa’s tourism sector projected to grow by 6.5 percent annually over the next decade, MKTE 2025 is poised to be a pivotal platform for driving sustainable growth and investment across the continent.

Destination Travel Magazine Launches to Spotlight Kenya on the Global Tourism Map

Kenya’s tourism sector received a major boost with the official launch of Destination Travel Magazine, a new publication under the Magical Kenya banner, aimed at showcasing the country’s diverse travel experiences to a global audience.

The magazine will serve as a powerful platform to tell compelling Kenyan stories, attract international tourists and promote local destinations often overlooked in mainstream media.

With captivating photography, in-depth features, and insights from local communities, #Destination Travel Magazine positions Kenya not just as a safari destination, but as a vibrant, multi-faceted country ready to charm the world.
