Kenya Showcases Motorsport Leadership at 2025 FIM Africa Central Africa Motocross Challenge

Kenya has reinforced its status as a regional motorsport powerhouse after successfully hosting the 2025 FIM Africa Central Africa Motocross Challenge (CAC) at the Matteos MX Track in Naivasha, in a championship that marked a significant milestone for African motorcycle sport.

The two-day event, sanctioned by FIM Africa and hosted by the Blade Doc Network under the Motorcycle Sports Federation of Kenya (MSFK), attracted top riders from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Competitors battled for regional supremacy across multiple categories, including Pewee, 50cc, 65cc, MX Lites, MX1, MX2, WMX, Veterans and Masters, underlining the depth and diversity of talent within the Central African region. With a legacy spanning more than two decades, the Central Africa Motocross Challenge is regarded as one of the continent’s most competitive championships, and Kenya’s hosting of the 2025 edition highlighted the country’s growing capacity to stage international-standard motorsport events.

Beyond the thrilling on-track action, the championship set new benchmarks in safety and medical preparedness. For the first time in the region, the FIM International Medical Mentorship Programme was embedded into the event, convening Chief Medical Officers and trackside medical teams from six African countries for an advanced seminar on global emergency response standards in motorcycle sport.

Kenya also leveraged the championship to advance road safety advocacy through the Rising Stars Africa Road Safety Campaign, spearheaded by the Blade Doc Network. More than 200 programme graduates, trained in road safety and first aid, were deployed as race marshals, demonstrating how community-based training can be translated into practical safety interventions during major sporting events.

“This year’s CAC was about more than competition,” said Dr David Karuri, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Blade Doc Network. “Kenya provided a platform that brought together elite sport, athlete welfare, anti-doping education and meaningful road safety impact.”

By hosting the 2025 Central Africa Motocross Challenge, Kenya not only delivered high-octane racing but also positioned itself at the forefront of African motorcycle sports development, blending professional competition with world-class medical standards and community-driven safety initiatives.
