Johnnie Walker’s Afro Exchange brings music, art and culture to life in Nanyuki
Johnnie Walker brought its Afro Exchange experience to Nanyuki, bringing together music lovers, artists and cultural tastemakers for an evening celebrating Kenyan music, art, creativity and premium whisky.
The immersive lifestyle experience, held at Zero Percent Lounge on Saturday, attracted hundreds of guests who gathered for an evening of entertainment and cultural expression.
Siaka hitmaker Mejja, popularly known as Okwonkwo, headlined the event with an energetic performance that saw revellers sing along to some of his biggest hits, including Siaka, one of his popular songs of the year.
The musical experience was complemented by DJ Candi and DJ Cupid, who kept the crowd entertained with a series of high-energy sets throughout the night. MC Mido hosted the event, maintaining the momentum from the start of the celebration to its conclusion.
Celebrating Nanyuki’s growing appeal

She said the Afro Exchange platform was designed to celebrate people shaping contemporary culture while creating spaces where music, art and connections can thrive.

McBull adds artistic touch
The event also featured a live mural showcase by fast-rising artist McBull, giving guests an opportunity to experience African creativity through visual art.
His live performance added another creative dimension to the evening and reinforced Afro Exchange’s focus on showcasing different forms of African artistic expression.
The Nanyuki event formed part of Johnnie Walker’s National Scotch Day celebrations, commemorated on July 27, as the brand continues to explore new ways of connecting Scotch whisky with contemporary culture and premium lifestyle experiences.
Afro Exchange expands across Kenya
Nanyuki becomes the latest destination for the Afro Exchange experience following previous editions in major Kenyan cities, including Kisumu.
The platform continues to provide a space for local musicians, artists and other cultural creatives to connect with audiences while celebrating African creativity.
With Nanyuki providing a backdrop combining tourism, adventure and culture, the event brought together entertainment and premium experiences in a setting designed to encourage consumers to connect, celebrate progress and “Keep Walking” in true Johnnie Walker style.
