Boss rolls out multi school feeding programme in Uasin Gishu County
Gladys Boss has launched a multi-school feeding programme across Uasin Gishu County in a bid to boost school attendance and improve learning outcomes among pupils.
The programme, rolled out in partnership with Soy Afric, Amina Myren Foundation and KAPU Africa, seeks to provide nutritional support to learners in vulnerable communities across the county.
Speaking during the launch, Shollei said access to nutritious meals in schools plays a key role in keeping children in class and enhancing concentration and academic performance.
The Uasin Gishu Woman Representative later joined Jonah Tanui at Munyek Primary School for the official unveiling of the feeding initiative in the area.
Leaders present during the event said the programme is expected to benefit hundreds of learners, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, by reducing cases of absenteeism linked to hunger.
They noted that partnerships between leaders, private organisations and community foundations remain critical in supporting education and improving the welfare of children in schools.
The initiative comes amid growing calls for enhanced school feeding programmes across the country as a way of improving retention and performance among learners in public schools.
