Bomas convention complex on track for April 2026 completion
Construction of the Bomas International Convention Complex is progressing well, with works ongoing around the clock to ensure completion by April 2026. The project currently employs up to 3,000 workers daily, highlighting the government’s push to fast-track key infrastructure projects while creating jobs.
Once completed, the ultra-modern facility is expected to meet global conference standards, significantly boosting Kenya’s capacity to host major international meetings, conventions and summits. Officials say the complex will play a central role in positioning Kenya as Africa’s leading conference and diplomatic hub.
In a strong vote of confidence, the facility has already been booked to host the France Africa Summit on May 12, 2026, even before construction is completed.
The early booking underscores growing international confidence in Kenya’s ability to deliver world-class infrastructure on schedule.
The government says the project forms part of a broader strategy to invest in transformative infrastructure aimed at supporting economic growth, enhancing Kenya’s global profile and advancing its long-term development agenda.
