Anti-Phishing Campaign Warns Against Fake Hospital Jobs

An anti-phishing awareness campaign has warned Kenyans to be cautious of fake job offers sent through email and social media platforms.

The campaign highlights a fake Medical Records Assistant recruitment message in which applicants are told they have passed an interview and are instructed to download a contract and enable macros.

Organisers warn that such attachments may contain malware capable of infecting devices, stealing personal information or compromising files.

Job seekers have been urged not to open unexpected attachments or enable macros in documents received from unknown or unverified sources.

They are also advised to confirm job offers directly with the hospital or organisation before downloading files or sharing personal information.

The campaign is aimed at helping the public identify common phishing tactics and avoid falling victim to online scams.

The public has further been encouraged to report suspicious messages and recruitment offers to the relevant authorities.
