The Fighting Brutality and Impunity (F.B.I.) Movement has issued a strong call for justice, accountability, and reforms in Kenya.
Addressing the press on Monday the leader of the movement, emphasized that the F.B.I. is not a militia but a collective of ordinary citizens farmers, students, workers, parents, and youths united by a shared vision of a just and dignified Kenya.
“We don’t carry guns we carry truth. We don’t loot we liberate,” FBI leader Patrick Osoi declared. “The real terrorism is found in brutality, in corruption that kills hospitals and schools, and in bullets fired at minors.”
The leaders highlighted the widespread nature of what they termed systemic brutality ranging from police violence and poor welfare of security officers, to economic hardships caused by punitive taxes, pending bills, and high costs of living.
Cop Shakur echoed Osoi’s sentiments, stressing that police officers themselves are victims of a system that uses them against citizens while neglecting their welfare.
“The police are not our enemies. They are our brothers, sisters, fathers, and mothers also suffering from low pay and unlawful orders,” Shakur said.
The F.B.I. Movement laid out 15 demands, among them: abolition of punitive taxation, recovery of stolen assets, revision of the Terrorism Act (2015), fair wages for officers and civil servants, protection of farmers, education reforms including HELB debt waiver, and an independent investigation into police brutality.
Osoi described pending government bills, currently amounting to over KSh 600 billion, as “economic brutality” that cripples businesses and livelihoods.
The movement called for mass registration into its ranks, promising peaceful resistance under the Constitution. “We will not be silenced, we will not be intimidated, and we will not be compromised,” Osoi said.
