NCBA Commits KES 12 Million to Education and Youth Empowerment Initiatives

NCBA Group has announced a significant investment of KES 12 million towards education and empowerment initiatives, benefiting over 150 students across the country. This funding is part of the bank’s annual KES 100 million commitment to uplifting communities through education and mentorship.

The scholarships, distributed through various education partners, aim to bridge existing financial gaps and ensure that more young Kenyans can achieve their academic and career aspirations.

Beneficiaries will receive support through organizations such as Edumed Trust, Dr. Choksey Albinism Foundation, M-PESA Foundation Academy, SOS Children’s Villages Kenya, Palmhouse Foundation, Daraja Kenya Initiative, KENSAP, WEDCO, and Kianda Foundation.

Beyond financial aid, NCBA is strengthening its mentorship initiatives to ensure students develop into confident leaders.

Speaking at the cheque handover ceremony, NCBA Group Managing Director, John Gachora, emphasized the bank’s commitment to holistic development.

“We believe in the power of education to shape the future. Our mentorship programs will help students become well-rounded individuals who can confidently lead in their communities and pay their knowledge forward”.

Boys Mentorship Programme RelaunchIn a renewed effort to support young men, NCBA has revived its Boys Mentorship Programme in collaboration with the Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF).

The program, launched at Upper Hill Boys High School, will equip students with leadership and problem-solving skills to navigate life’s challenges.

The cheque handover event was held at the Nairobi Railway Museum, aligning with NCBA’s sustainability agenda, “Change The Story.”

Through this initiative, students were exposed to historical innovations in railway transport, encouraging them to think about future advancements such as electric trains and solar-powered mobility solutions.

To mark the occasion, NCBA, together with its partners and beneficiaries, planted trees at the Nairobi Railway Museum, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

With this investment, NCBA continues to solidify its role as a key driver of transformative change, championing education, mentorship, and sustainability to create lasting impact in Kenya.
