TECNO wins two IFA innovation awards for modular phone, gaming PC
TECNO has won two IFA Global Product Technology Innovation Awards at IFA 2026, earning recognition for its TECNO Modular Phone and Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS (MEGA MINI G1 Pro).
The TECNO Modular Phone received the Ultra Slim Magnetic Modular Technology Innovation Gold Award, while the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS won the Miniaturised Gaming PC Technology Innovation Gold Award.
The awards highlight TECNO’s push into new product designs and technologies beyond its established Camon, Spark and POVA smartphone ranges, which are widely available to Kenyan consumers.
Modular phone targets next generation of users
At 4.9mm thick, TECNO describes the Modular Phone as the world’s slimmest modular smartphone.
The device uses proprietary Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology, combining a precision magnetic array with pogo pin connectors to allow users to attach different modules to the phone.
The company says the ecosystem will support 10 high-performance modules designed to respond to changing user needs. The phone retains a 3,000 to 4,000mAh battery, while attached modules can draw power directly from the device.
The portless unibody design also offers dust and water resistance.
TECNO says the Modular Phone is expected to enter mass production soon, potentially giving Kenyan consumers another TECNO device to watch as the technology moves towards the market.
The phone has also received more than 20 accolades from international technology publications, according to TECNO.
Lamborghini-branded mini PC targets gamers
The Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS is a compact water-cooled gaming PC measuring about 6.36 litres.
Its vertical chassis features a transparent panoramic window and combines Italian-inspired styling with high-performance hardware.
The machine is powered by an Intel Core i9-13900HK processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics, with 614 AI TOPS, 145W TGP and DLSS 4.
TECNO says its water-cooling system helps sustain high performance under heavy workloads, while 15 ports, including OCuLink and USB4, provide connectivity and expansion options.
TECNO showcases future devices
TECNO also showcased the Next Gen Bezelless Concept Phone with a claimed 0mm screen bezel and the convertible MEGABOOK T15 360 Pro at IFA 2026.
Both are concept devices rather than retail products.
The awards were established in 2014 by IDG, IFA and DIHK to recognise innovation across the global consumer electronics industry, including advances in technology and user-centred design.
