LOOP DFS earns global IT service certification after zero non-conformities
Digital financial services provider LOOP DFS has secured the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018 certification, strengthening its position in the provision of reliable and secure digital financial services across Africa.
The certification, awarded to LOOP DFS Limited and LOOP DFS Ghana Limited, follows independent audits by the British Standards Institution (BSI), during which the company recorded zero major and zero minor non-conformities.
The internationally recognised certification covers LOOP’s IT service management systems, including governance and leadership, incident and problem management, change and request management, service availability and continuity, capacity, supplier management and continual improvement.
The milestone comes as digital financial services continue to play a growing role in payments, savings and lending across the continent, with customers and business partners increasingly relying on technology platforms to access financial services.
LOOP said the certification provides assurance to customers, regulators, banking partners and mobile network operators that its technology services are managed through a robust and continuously improving framework.
The certification also extends to LOOP DFS’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering, which provides digital financial infrastructure such as payment rails, Know Your Customer (KYC) capabilities, ledger systems and compliance tools to banks, telecommunications companies and other partners.
According to the company, partners using the infrastructure benefit from the same audited standards of reliability, security and continual improvement without having to build the underlying infrastructure themselves.
LOOP DFS chief executive officer Eric Muriuki said the certification demonstrated the discipline of its teams and the company’s commitment to secure and reliable digital financial services.
“As we continue to expand our footprint across Africa, this milestone reinforces the trust our customers and partners place in us,” Muriuki said.
He added that the company would continue improving its services while pursuing innovation aimed at empowering individuals and businesses across the continent.
The certification process involved both Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits conducted by BSI, with LOOP successfully completing the assessment without any major or minor non-conformities.
LOOP said the certification reinforces its long-term focus on strengthening governance, improving service quality and adopting globally recognised practices to support innovation and sustainable growth.
LOOP DFS is the digital financial services subsidiary of NCBA Group and provides digital platforms covering payments, credit, savings and other financial services across Africa.
