Smart Applications Wins Global Innovation Award for AI-Driven Health Solutions

Kenyan health-tech firm Smart Applications International has won the Product and Service Innovation of the Year award at the 3i International Conference 2026, reinforcing its growing role in transforming healthcare and insurance systems through digital solutions.
Speaking after receiving the award, Group Managing Director Harrison Muiru said the recognition reflects the company’s focus on leveraging technology to address inefficiencies in the sector.
“This recognition is a strong validation of our commitment to delivering meaningful, technology-led transformation in healthcare and insurance. As systems grow in complexity, the need for intelligent, integrated platforms becomes even more critical,” he said.
The award, presented at the global forum convened by the Insurers Association of Mauritius, acknowledges the company’s efforts in deploying technology-driven platforms that enhance efficiency, transparency and accountability across healthcare and insurance systems.
The recognition comes amid growing global emphasis on artificial intelligence and integrated digital ecosystems as key drivers of efficiency and improved service delivery in healthcare.
Smart Applications International has expanded its footprint across Africa through solutions such as MediSmart and Smart Insure, which support automation, streamline claims management and enable data-driven decision-making.
Mauritius Country Manager Yan Jouan said sustainable healthcare systems depend on both technology and local expertise.
