Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars Headed to Spain for Training Camp
The Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars Team, comprising 32 of Kenya’s top young football talents 16 boys and 16 girls will soon embark on an international training camp in Spain.
These standout players were scouted during the eight regional finals held across the country, including Western, Nyanza, Rift Valley, Eastern, Coast, Central, North-Eastern, and Nairobi.
Currently camping at Ligi Ndogo Grounds, the team is set to depart Nairobi on Sunday evening, December 8, heading to Huesca, Spain.
Over the course of a week, they will engage in advanced football training, masterclasses and matches designed to elevate their skills and broaden their horizons.
During their stay, the All-Stars will face off against Huesca’s Youth Academy, attend sessions led by former professional players and train at the state-of-the-art Base Aragonesa de Fútbol.
Beyond football, the players will experience Spain’s climate and culture, gaining invaluable exposure to international football standards.
Speaking at the team’s unveiling, Safaricom CEO Dr. Peter Ndegwa said, that Safaricom is committed to create opportunities that empower young people to showcase their talents on global stages.
“Through this trip, we hope to provide these 32 young players with a life-changing experience that allows them to learn from world-class football professionals. We wish them the very best as they embark on this journey.” he said.
Making his remarks ,Khamis Nyale a player said that the trip is a dream come true.
“Visiting Spain to experience world-class football has always been my dream. Thanks to Safaricom Chapa Dimba, that dream is now a reality. I am determined to make the most of this opportunity, learn as much as possible, and grow my football career.” he said.
The team will be accompanied by coaches Chrispine Odindo of Plateau Queens and Evans Oketch of Obunga FC, alongside Football Kenya Federation (FKF) representatives.
This initiative underscores Safaricom’s commitment to nurturing young talent and showcasing.
