Nairobi, Kenya – It’s a major step forward for the global digital community. Kenyan tech- startup PataChuo has unveiled the world’s first social media platform dedicated exclusively to alumni with the aim of Uniting each individual with their former students from schools ,Colleges and Universities  Globally.

The high-profile launch event, held in Nairobi, brought together education leaders, innovation experts, corporate partners, media representatives, and the PataChuo founding team to celebrate what is being described as a milestone contribution to global online networking.

Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Sidney Rukwaro announced that the platform aims to serve over 5 billion alumni worldwide, offering a centralized digital home where former students—from primary to university level can reconnect, share experiences, and build lasting networks.

A New Digital Home for Global Alumni

Unlike mainstream social networks, PataChuo is built around identity and institutional affiliation. It brings together former learners from primary schools, secondary schools, technical institutions, vocational centers, colleges, and universities across continents, eliminating the fragmentation caused by scattered WhatsApp groups and dispersed alumni pages.

At the heart of the platform is the PataChuo Blackboard, a vibrant, media-rich feed that allows alumni to share videos, photos, nostalgic school memories, mentorship insights, professional journeys, and global interactions all curated within a unified, easy-to-navigate space.

“PataChuo is the default fun place for alumni globally,” Rukwaro emphasized. “It is a space where reconnection becomes effortless and alumni culture thrives across generations and borders.”

Solving Long-Standing Fragmentation

The founders highlighted that PataChuo tackles a persistent challenge facing alumni communities fragmentation across multiple generic platforms. The app consolidates these scattered networks into one structured digital ecosystem, enabling institutions and alumni groups to organize themselves at class, departmental, faculty, or whole-institution level.

The project is a fully Kenyan innovation conceived, designed, and developed locally over three years. The development team has built a platform capable of hosting millions while complying with stringent global data privacy and security standards.

Youth Empowerment Through the PataChuo Affiliates Program

Alongside the platform’s unveiling, the team launched the PataChuo Affiliates Program, an income-generating initiative targeting young people across Kenya and beyond. The program allows alumni to earn by inviting others to join the platform, making it one of the region’s most accessible and youth-friendly digital empowerment models.

PataChuo CEO and Co-Founder Felix Nyabuto encouraged young people to seize the opportunity:
“Your next earning opportunity may be your neighbor, your former classmate, your church member, or your entire community. This is your gateway to digital income—simple, scalable, and within your reach.”

Nyabuto also led a live demonstration of the platform’s MVP, showcasing its seamless user experience, interactive features, and global connectivity potential.

A Kenyan Vision With Global Ambition

Addressing the Media during a press briefing held at HH Towers, in Nairobi Rukwaro an alumnus of Carmelvale Catholic Primary School, Ofafa Jericho High School, and KCA University reflected on the three-year journey that led to the platform’s creation. He described the launch as a milestone built on persistence, belief, and the shared struggles that many graduates face.

“For decades, alumni across the world have been scattered on generic platforms or disconnected from the institutions that shaped them,” he said. “We built PataChuo to give the world’s largest community a community of over 5 billion alumni a home. A global vision, born right here in Kenya.”

He emphasized that the platform provides not only connection but also empowerment, especially for young graduates who struggle to find networks and opportunities after school.

A Platform Connecting Nations and Generations

Through PataChuo, alumni can reconnect with former classmates in different cities or continents, organize reunions and professional groups, or relive their school experiences through multimedia content. The platform brings together individuals from Brazil to India, Saudi Arabia to the United States, Australia to South Africa, Nigeria to Kenya creating one global alumni village.
