Nairobi, Kenya – November 18, 2025: TVS Motor Company, one of the world’s leading two- and three-wheeler manufacturers, has opened a state-of-the-art flagship showroom on Lusaka Road, Nairobi, in partnership with long-time distributor Car & General. The new facility is designed as a premium experience and sales centre, signalling TVS’s bold push into Kenya’s fast-growing premium motorcycle segment.

The opening comes just one day after the high-profile Kenyan launch of the much-anticipated TVS Apache RTR 180 – a performance-focused motorcycle that carries 43 years of TVS racing DNA and is positioned as the brand’s entry into the personal/premium riding category in East Africa.

Speaking at the Apache RTR 180 launch on November 17, Peyman Kargar, President – International Business, TVS Motor Company, declared Kenya a cornerstone of the company’s African strategy:

“Kenya is central to our continental ambitions. As East Africa’s commercial hub with a vibrant and evolving motorcycle culture, it is the perfect market to introduce the Apache series. We see tremendous potential here, especially among young, aspirational riders who want more than just utility  they want excitement, desire, and a lifestyle on two wheels.”

Kargar emphasised that the new Lusaka Road showroom is deliberately crafted to deliver a “superior customer experience” comparable to luxury automotive brands.

“When you walk into a Tesla or Rolls-Royce showroom, you feel something different. We want customers to feel that same elevation when they step into a TVS showroom,” he told journalists. “This is about giving Kenya’s Gen Z and upwardly mobile riders a place that matches the pride they will feel owning an Apache.”

The new facility will showcase TVS’s complete two-wheeler portfolio while serving as the flagship home for the Apache series in Kenya. Industry observers note that the investment reflects growing demand for premium, performance-oriented motorcycles in a market long dominated by utilitarian commuter bikes and boda-bodas.

TVS Motor Company already sells in over 90 countries and has earned global recognition for engineering and innovation. The Apache brand, in particular, has built a strong reputation in Asia and Latin America and is now expanding in Europe (notably Italy). The Kenyan rollout marks one of the brand’s most ambitious premium-segment launches in Africa to date.

Local partner Car & General, which has distributed TVS products in East Africa for years, says the timing is perfect.

“We have built a rock-solid foundation with reliable, high-volume products that meet everyday needs,” said a senior Car & General executive. “Now, with the Apache and this new experiential showroom, we are ready to take TVS to the next level from pure utility to excitement and desire.”

Both TVS and Car & General confirmed that more new Apache variants and premium models are already in the pipeline for Kenya, with further expansion of the showroom space possible once demand is proven.

With the youth population booming and disposable incomes rising among urban Kenyans, the arrival of the TVS Apache RTR 180 and its dedicated premium home on Lusaka Road is set to ignite fresh competition in Kenya’s evolving two-wheeler market.
