Opposition Accuses President Ruto of Authoritarianism and Constitutional Violations

Critics of President William Ruto have leveled serious allegations against his administration, claiming it has devolved into a dictatorial regime responsible for abductions, torture, and disregard for constitutional laws.
Speaking on Thursday,at a press briefing Opposition leaders led by Kalonzo Musyoka has demand accountability under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), asserting that Ruto bears the highest responsibility for alleged crimes against Kenyans.
During a recent address, opposition figures has criticized Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome and Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin for their perceived roles in perpetuating illegal detentions.
The opposition vowed to confront these issues on all fronts, including the courts and public demonstrations. A significant court date with Justice Bahati is set for January 27, where failure by officials to appear could result in immediate legal consequences.
The leaders also condemned the delayed reconstitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), accusing Ruto of manipulating the process to undermine the 2027 elections.

Opposition leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called for unity among Kenyans to resist what they see as a slide back into oppressive governance.
Drawing parallels to international accountability, they pointed to the recent arrest of South Korea’s former president, arguing that no leader is above the law.
The Opposition Leader has warned against impunity and promising continued resistance.They have also Called for Ruto’s resignation.
They urged citizens to take decisive action to restore democracy and uphold Kenya’s Constitution.

Making his remarks Jeremiah Kioni calls for Action Against President William as he urged citizens to take action against President William Ruto,suggesting it is time to “arrest him in the State House and send him back home.”
Kioni said with unwavering conviction, declared, “Enough is enough,” emphasizing his frustration with the current administration as well as drawing reactions from both supporters and critics alike.
