Kalonzo Pays Tribute to Late Ben Onwonga in Nyamira, Engages Bomet Residents

The People’s Loyal Coalition (PLC) Principal, H.E. Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, led mourners in paying tribute to the late Ben Robert Omariba Onwonga in Nyamira County today.

Eulogizing Mr. Onwonga, who passed away on March 12 after a prolonged illness, Dr. Musyoka described him as a dear friend renowned for his warmth, humor, and kindness.

He further lauded Onwonga’s dedication to education as a powerful tool for societal transformation.

Dr. Musyoka was joined by prominent leaders, including Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) Party Leader Eugene Wamalwa, Kitui County Woman Representative Hon. Irene Kasalu, Yatta MP Robert Basil, Luanda MP Dick Maungu Oyugi, and former Borabu MP Ben Momanyi.

Beyond the funeral, Dr. Musyoka addressed key national issues, including the Haiti peacekeeping mission, where he expressed his condolences over the tragic deaths of two Kenyan servicemen.

He also weighed in on recent remarks by Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Charles Kahariri regarding the “#RutoMustGo” chants that have gained traction across the country.

Following the service, Dr. Musyoka and his delegation made two stopovers in Bomet County, engaging residents at Bomet Market and Mulot Sunset.

The visit provided an opportunity for the team to connect with the local community and discuss pertinent national matters.
