Guchi’s Team Eyes Stronger Ties with Kenya as Nigerian Star Visits Fans

Lagos-based record executive Anita Mango, Chief of Operations at Guchi Records, has expressed her commitment to expanding the label’s influence beyond Nigeria and strengthening relationships with other countries, including Kenya.

“It is very important for us to venture into different territories and connect with wonderful people like you in Kenya. You have continuously shown us love, especially towards Guchi, through her projects and social media,” Mango said.

She acknowledged the overwhelming support from Kenyan fans, especially after Guchi announced her visit.

“She announced yesterday, and we went crazy! We are still processing the excitement and looking forward to seeing how much more we can do to deepen this connection.

Guchi’s manager, Patrick Weibo, also spoke highly of the love and enthusiasm shown by Kenyan fans.

“We receive immense support from Kenya, and they never hesitate to show their love for Guchi. We are here to connect, enjoy the culture, and experience Kenya’s vibrant energy,” he said.

Speaking during a press briefing, Nigerian artist Ugochi Lydia Onuoha, popularly known as Guchi, expressed her gratitude.

“Like my manager said, Kenya has been amazing to me. It’s only proper that I show the same love in return. I’m here to connect with my fans, show them appreciation, and have a great time,” Guchi stated.

She shared the overwhelming response she received upon announcing her visit.

“There must have been over a thousand reactions within hours. Fans suggested places I should visit from Matatus to beaches. It’s been heartwarming.”

A New Chapter After a Challenging Past

Reflecting on her last visit three years ago, Guchi acknowledged that it wasn’t the best experience.

“The last time I was in Kenya, things didn’t go as planned, but I later realized it was not the fault of my fans. It was just an unfortunate mistake. This time, I’m here for my fans ,no mistakes, just love,” she affirmed.

Encouraging Collaboration in the Music Industry

Industry expert Mawaitha Africa, who has played a key role in global music expansion, emphasized the need for collaboration within the music ecosystem.

“This trip itself is a collaboration between Mawaitha Africa and China Productions. Not everyone can do everything alone. Some may be great at media but struggle with logistics, while others excel in strategy. We must work together. Event organizers, PR agents, talent managers, and promoters should embrace partnerships rather than operate as one-man armies,” Maude advised.

Guchi’s visit to Kenya marks another step in strengthening the cultural and musical exchange between Nigeria and Kenya, proving that music continues to be a unifying force across Africa.
