UDA Ready for Repeat Phase III Grassroots Elections in 18 Counties

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has confirmed its preparedness to conduct the Repeat Phase III grassroots elections scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, across 18 counties.

Speaking during a press briefing held at the party headquarters in Nairobi,UDA Secretary General, Sen. Hassan Omar Hassan, together with National Elections Board (NEB) Chairperson Anthony Mwaura and UDA Party Directors, said the party has finalized all logistical and technological arrangements to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral exercise.

Anthony Mwaura announced that the elections will take place in Kiambu, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Embu, Meru, Samburu, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Baringo, Laikipia, Kericho, Bomet, and Vihiga counties.

According to the party, more than 500,000 candidates have registered to contest for 20 positions at the polling centre level. The positions represent diverse groups including women, youth, special interest groups, farmers, religious leaders, professionals, and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) or traders.

UDA expects approximately eight million voters to participate in the exercise, which will be conducted in 8,819 polling centres across the participating counties.

To enhance transparency and efficiency, the party has deployed technology throughout the voting process. A total of 9,000 electronic voting tablets have already been distributed to polling centres, and results will be accessible to the public through a dedicated portal on the party’s website.

Voting will begin at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m.

The exercise is expected to produce about 150,000 elected grassroots officials who will form the foundation of the party’s grassroots leadership structure with a direct mandate from members.
